Brandon Kinzer Releases 2013 Plans Including Switch to MB Customs ALLEN, KY (December 10) - After competing in a limited number of Dirt Late Model events in 2012, Brandon Kinzer and Kinzer Motorsports are eager for the start of their 2013 campaign, which should include much more racing action for the Allen, Kentucky based team. Brandon is currently scouring over the 2013 schedules for many of the regional traveling series and is considering following a tour fulltime for the first time in several years. While ’13 plans do not include a trip to Georgia and Florida for “Speedweeks,” Brandon will most likely open up his season sometime in the month of March.
When BK does take to the track for the first time in 2013, he will be armed with a pair of new MB Customs racecars. After fielding GRT and Rocket racecars over the past several seasons, the #18 team recently hooked up with car builders Jimmy and Chris Mars and made the switch to MB Customs, which are built in Menomonie, Wisconsin. A brainchild of the Mars brothers and Muscatine, Iowa standout Brian Birkhofer, MB Customs has been the winning car in such marquee events as the ‘World 100,’ ‘North/South 100,’ ‘USA Nationals,’ ‘Dirt Track World Championship,’ ‘Show-Me 100,’ ‘Firecracker 100,’ ‘Silver Dollar Nationals,’ ‘Illini 100,’ and ‘National 100’ over the past five seasons.
“I am very excited to align myself with Mars Race Cars and I can’t wait to get behind the wheel of a MB Customs car next year,” exclaimed Kinzer in a recent telephone conversation. “We have spent a great deal of time over the phone and in person with them over the last week or so and I am very comfortable that this is the direction that we need to go for 2013. Me and Jimmy (Mars) think the same way about a lot of things and he has committed to provide us with feedback and information, as well as the opportunity to do some testing together. You can’t argue with the amount of success that Jimmy and Brian (Birkhofer) have had over the past five years, along with some of the other guys that drive their stuff. I look forward to working closely with them and having a great 2013 season!”
The feeling is mutual from Mars Race Cars. “We were looking to expand our chassis business into some different areas of the country and the opportunity came up to work with Kinzer Motorsports,” commented Jimmy Mars earlier today. “They are as professional as it comes and it has been a pleasure working with Brandon and his team already. I know that Brandon wants to get out and race more next year and I think that our MB Customs car fits what he is trying to accomplish. Everyone here at Mars Race Cars is committed to providing the Kinzer Motorsports team with everything they need to maximize their performance.”
As soon as all track and series schedules are released this off-season, Brandon will post his own tentative schedule online at
