Brady Smith Wraps Up Season with Dirt Track World Championship

SOLON SPRINGS, WI (October 25) - The Brady Smith Racing team wrapped up their version of the 2012 racing season on October 19-20 with the 32nd Annual 'Dirt Track World Championship' at the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio.  A total of 94 competitors converged on PRP for the $50,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series finale, which also attracted the high-definition cameras of the Lucas Oil Production Studios.  After Mother Nature took the win on Friday night, the entire crown jewel event was condensed into a one-day affair starting on Saturday afternoon.

Brady Smith kicked off his day by posting the twenty-sixth fastest lap in Group B during qualifying, but later climbed up to third in his stacked heat race to grab the final transfer spot.  The Solon Springs, Wisconsin standout then rolled off from the outside of the ninth row in the 100-lapper and drove up to as high as seventh in the running order.  After fading a bit as the DTWC wore on due to right front body damage, Brady wound up retiring on lap 65 and settled for a seventeenth place performance.  Full results from PRP can be viewed online at www.lucasdirt.com.

With the 2012 racing season now complete, the #2 team can celebrate what was a very successful year.  In the forty-three Dirt Late Model events that Brady entered this year, he amassed eight feature wins, eighteen Top Fives, and twenty-six Top Tens.  Brady’s biggest triumph of the ’12 campaign was his $9,200 win in the annual ‘John Seitz Memorial’ at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, North Dakota back in September.  You can view all of his accomplishments from this season by logging onto www.bradysmithracing.com.
