Josh McGuire Transfers into DTWC; Readies for Willard and 201 Doubleheader

GRAYSON, KY (October 25) - The Josh McGuire Racing (JMR) team headed to the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio on October 19-20 for the 32nd edition of the 'Dirt Track World Championship.'  A total of 94 competitors piled into the pit area at PRP, all of whom were gunning for the $50,000 payday in the crown jewel event, which also attracted the high-definition cameras of the Lucas Oil Production Studios.  After Mother Nature took the win on Friday night, the entire program was condensed into a one-day affair starting on Saturday afternoon.

Josh McGuire laid down the eighth quickest lap in Group B during Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series qualifying and later grabbed the third and final transfer spot through his stacked heat race.  The Grayson, Kentucky ace then started the 100-lap main event from the outside of the eighth row and had his sights set on moving forward in the DTWC.  Unfortunately, Josh retired on lap 25 and wound up twenty-fourth in the final rundown.  Complete results from Portsmouth can be obtained by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com.

The JMR team will now turn their attention to a pair of unsanctioned events in the Commonwealth of Kentucky on October 26-27.  On Friday night, the Willard Speedway in Willard, Kentucky will play host to the ‘Black Jack Memorial,’ which boasts a $2,000 top prize.  The newly-reopened 201 Speedway in Sitka, Kentucky will then take center stage with the $3,000 to win ‘Halloween 50’ on Saturday evening.  Also up for grabs over the weekend is a $500 bonus if a lucky driver can sweep both shows.  You can view the upcoming schedule for “Bad Fast” Josh McGuire by logging onto www.joshmcguireracing.com.
