Brian Birkhofer Aims for Another Dirt Track World Championship Title this Weekend

MUSCATINE, IA (October 18) - The Birkhofer Racing team returned to the Dirt Late Model scene on October 12-13 with a trip to the Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi for the 18th Annual 'Coors Light Fall Classic.' The unsanctioned, two-day show boasted a $15,000 top prize. Brian Birkhofer was solid during qualifying on Friday night and later grabbed the third and final transfer spot through his loaded heat race. Trying to become a three-time 'Fall Classic' victor, Brian rolled off starting seventeenth on the grid in Saturday's 100-lapper. Unfortunately, Brian was never a factor during the race and wound up eighteenth in the final rundown. Full results from Whynot can be obtained by clicking on www.whynotmotorsportspark.com.

Next up for Brian and his #15b team will be the 32nd running of the 'Dirt Track World Championship' scheduled for October 19-20 at the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will preside over their season finale at PRP and the crown jewel event once again boasts a hefty $50,000 payday. Qualifying and heat race action will take place on Friday night, while the consolation events, $3,000 to win 'Jim Dunn Memorial Non-Qualifiers Race,' and the 100-lap 'Dirt Track World Championship' are all scheduled for Saturday evening.

The high-definition cameras of the Lucas Oil Productions Studios will be on hand at Portsmouth to tape all of the wheel-to-wheel action for broadcast on the SPEED Channel. Brian will be looking for his second DTWC title, as he took home the $50,000 win back in 2008 at the K-C Raceway near Chillicothe, Ohio.
