Ronny Lee Hollingsworth Goes Two-For-Two Over the Weekend

by Ben Shelton
NORTHPORT, Alabama (10/03/12) – With several major events on the immediate horizon in his area Ronny Lee Hollingsworth served notice over the weekend that he is ready to contend by claiming a pair of $3,000 victories over the course of last weekend in his #18 Flynn Motorsports/ Barry Wright/Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.

After seeing the team's scheduled events in Oklahoma nixed by rain Ronny Lee traveled to Duck River Speedway (Wheel, Tennessee) on Friday night for a $3,000-to-win, Southern Regional Racing Series (SRRS) Super Late Model event.  Thirty-seven Super Late Models entered the program, and Hollingsworth started his night by powering his #18 Flynn Racing/Barry Wright/Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model to not only fast time, but also a new track record.  Via his qualifying effort he started on the front row for the 50 lap finale and was joined by Tanner English.  As the race went green Ronny Lee shot to the lead and not even four caution flags could slow him down as he led the distance to claim his fourth win of the year, which came over Riley Hickman, Josh Putnam, Daniel Miller, and David Brannon.  Full results are available at www.SouthernRegionalRacingSeries.com.

Ronny Lee carried his momentum from Friday night's win into Saturday evening at Winchester Speedway (Winchester, Tennessee) as he took part in an unsanctioned, $3,000-to-win event at the 1/4 mile oval.  Thirty-three Super Late Models entered the Rebel 40, and via time trials Hollingsworth earned the seventh starting spot for the 40 lap finale.  In the opening ten laps of the feature he would advance to the fourth spot and would be happy to ride there until late in the race, when he jumped to the cushion.  In the closing laps he worked his way into second, and on the white flag lap he would pull even with race leader, Chad Winkles, before winning a drag race to the checkers to claim his second win in as many nights.  Winkles, David Gentry, Tim Busha, and Daniel Miller rounded out the top five.  The victory was his fifth win of the season. Full results are available at www.WinchesterSpeedway.net.

"Man this weekend hit the spot!  With some big money events in our back yard coming up we needed this momentum.  I can't thank Mr. Flynn and all of my great sponsors for this great car that they've given me.  Hopefully we can pick up some big money wins in the next few weeks," commented Hollingsworth.

This weekend, October 5th-6th, Ronny Lee will travel to Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Mississippi) for the 6th Annual Gumbo Nationals at the 1/4 mile oval.  The $7,500-to-win/$700-to-start event, which will be sanctioned by the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS), will see time trials and heat race action contested on Friday night, while b-mains, the last chance qualifier, and the 75 lap finale will be held on Saturday evening.  For more information on the event, please visit www.GreenvilleSpeedway.net .

Ronny Lee Hollingsworth would like to thank all of his sponsors including Waddle Trucking, Flynn Racing, Kelley Electrical Contractors, Clements Racing Engines, MSRMafia.com, Xtreme Graphics By J-Rod, Stuckey Enterprises, Hoosier Racing Tires, VP Racing Fuels, Barry Wright Race Cars, and O.H.
