Dale McDowell Makes Impressive Mastersbilt Debut at Winchester

WELCOME, North Carolina (09/26/12) – There were no new-car bugs for Team Dillon Racing and Dale McDowell to work out over the weekend as he made a clean sweep of the Winchester 200 in his debut in his #17m Team Dillon Racing/Mastersbilt/Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.

The opening round of the Winchester 200 was held on Friday night at Winchester Speedway (Winchester, Virginia), and Dale McDowell piloted his brand-new #17 Team Dillon Racing/Mastersbilt Super Late Model to the $3,500 win!  Forty-five Super Late Models registered for action, and the top twenty-four qualifiers locked into the primary feature from time trials.  After recording the second fastest time overall McDowell earned the outside-front-row starting spot for the main event alongside Austin Hubbard.  As the race went green McDowell bolted to the lead and not even four caution flags could slow him down as he led all 35 laps to claim the win over Hubbard, Nick Dickson, Jason Covert, and Tommy Armel.

Dale concluded a great weekend on Saturday night by completing a sweep of the Winchester 200 at Winchester Speedway (Winchester, Virginia).  Forty-two Super Late Models entered the event, and the field was divided into two, $1,000-to-win qualifiers. McDowell claimed the win in his qualifier to earn the outside-front-row starting spot for the $8,000-to-win feature.  As the race went green he won the drag race to turn one and would never look back on his way to the win, which came over D.J. Myers, Jason Covert, Kenny Moreland, and Austin Hubbard.  Dale also received a $2,500 bonus for being a first time winner of the event to bring his weekend total to $15,000.

“That will certainly make the ride back home to Georgia pretty nice.”  McDowell, who debuted a new MasterSbilt Race Car for Team Dillon Racing, said of his weekend’s earnings.  “I knew we had a good race car and it was important to beat (Myers) into the first turn at the start, and we were able to do that.  This has been a great weekend.  To come here this weekend with a brand new race car and win every race we were in, just shows what a great team we have in TDR racing.”

This weekend, September 28th-29th, Dale will travel to Bruschreek Motorsports Complex (Peebles, Ohio) for the One Epic Weekend event.  The event, which will be sanctioned by the ADRA tour, will see a $10,000-to-win event contested, and then the field will be completely inverted from their finishing order of the first feature for a second feature.  The second feature offers the winning driver the choice of either a $10,000 check or a brand new Harley Davidson Motorcycle.  Please visit www.BrushcreekMotorsports.com for more information.
