Morgan Bagley Claims Fourth Win of 2012; Knoxville Next

by Ben Shelton
LONGVIEW, Texas (09/26/12) – Morgan Bagley entered a pair of events over the weekend in Texas and Arkansas, and he would receive a mixed bag of results, which included his fourth win of the season, for his efforts in his #14m P&W Sales/Rocket By R.E. Consulting/Clements Super Late Model.

On Friday night the racing action opened at Mountain Creek Speedway (Grand Prairie, Texas) with a $1,500-to-win, unsanctioned event.  Twenty-two Super Late Models entered the event, and after claiming a dominant win in his heat race, Bagley earned the pole position for the main event.  As the race went green Bagley shot to the lead and would never look back as he lapped all the way to the sixth position on his way to his fourth triumph of the 2012 season.  He was followed across the finish line by Patrik Daniel and Tyler Erb.  Full results are available at www.MountainCreekSpeedway.com .

Saturday night found the team traveling to I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas) for a $2,000-to-win event with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS). Twenty-five Super Late Models converged on the 1/4 mile oval, and heat race action found Bagley finishing third to earn the twelfth starting spot for the 35 lap finale.  In the feature he quickly began working his way forward as the race went green, but on lap 5 bad luck would strike as he was collected in a multi-car melee.  Damage received in the incident forced him to call it a night. He was credited with an eighteenth place finish in the final rundown.  Full results from the event are available at www.COMPDirt.com .

"The car was really phenomenal on Friday night, and to be honest we had a good car on Saturday night, but we were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.  Sometimes it just goes that way though," commented Bagley.

The team now turns its attention to the 9th Annual Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville Raceway (Knoxville, Iowa).  The event marks the first time that Morgan has ever competed at the legendary, 1/2 mile oval, and he will be taking on a talented field of competitors in an event that has a purse in excess of $260,000.  On Thursday and Friday night $7,000-to-win/$400-to-start events will be held, while Saturday night's finale pays $40,000-to-win/$2,500-to-start.  For more information on the event, please visit www.LucasDirt.com.
