Billy Moyer Focuses on WOOLMS Double-Dip After Eldora Disappointment

BATESVILLE, AR (September 13) - The Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) team was on the hunt for their seventh globe trophy on September 7-8, as the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio played host to the 42nd edition of the 'World 100.'  After Mother Nature took the win on qualifying night on Friday, the entire show was condensed into a one-day affair on Saturday.  During the one-round qualifying session on Saturday afternoon, Billy Moyer laid down the ninth quickest lap around the 1/2-mile speedplant.

When the heat races rolled off as scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday evening, Billy won his prelim in convincing fashion, which locked him into the outside of the second row for the start of the $50,000 to win 'World 100.'  The Batesville, Arkansas star quickly moved up to second in the running order, but brake issues slowed the Hall of Famer on lap 32.  Billy wound up pitting several times to fix the problem, but later retired from the 100-lapper after completing only 47 circuits and finished in the twenty-second position.  Complete results from the "Big E" can be found online at www.eldoraspeedway.com.

Following the disappointment at Eldora, the #21 team will look to rebound this upcoming weekend (September 14-15) in a pair of World of Outlaws Late Model Series battles in the states of Illinois and Missouri.  The ‘Photobilly 50’ at the tiny Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville, Illinois will pay $12,000 the winner on Friday night, while the annual running of the ‘Pepsi Nationals’ at the Federated Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri boasts a $10,000 payday on Saturday evening.  Both shows will pay $1,000 just to start the feature event.  Additional information concerning both programs can be accessed by clicking on www.worldofoutlaws.com.

BMR would like to thank the following sponsors for their continued support: Henderson Motorsports, Banner Valley Hauling, L&D Trucking, Car City, Clements Racing Engines, Cooley Transport, J&J Steel, Karl Chevrolet, Minx Show Palace, New Vision Graphics, Red Line Oil, Watters Autoland, Victory Circle by Moyer Race Cars, Allstar Performance, Arizona Sports Shirts, Awesome Racewear, Beyea Headers, Bell Helmets, Bert Transmission, BSB Manufacturing, ButlerBuilt Professional Seat Systems, Champ Pans, Cizmar, Crower, Dart Heads, Delph Communications, Eibach Springs, F.A.S.T., Hawk Brakes, Hoosier Racing Tire, Intercomp, ISC Racers Tape, Mason Racin', Midwest Sheet Metal, MSD Ignition, Ohlins Shocks, Performance Bodies, Performance Rod & Custom, Peterson Fluid Systems, Rockhard Powder Coating, Stealth Carburetion, Sunoco Race Fuels, Sweet Mfg., Turbo Start Batteries, TWM Manufacturing, Weld Racing Wheels, and Wiles Racing Driveshafts.
