As mentioned earlier, the Brady Smith Racing team enjoyed a tremendous amount of success last weekend, as they recorded a trio of special event wins from August 29-September 2. Last Wednesday night, Brady kicked off his extended Labor Day weekend with a $2,000 WISSOTA Challenge Series triumph at the Ogilvie Raceway in Ogilvie, Minnesota. On Thursday evening, Brady claimed his second straight Black Bear Resort Casino 'Silver 1000' title at the Proctor Speedway in Proctor, Minnesota, as he received $2,920 for his efforts in defeating John Kaanta, Zach Wohlers, Tom Waseleski, Jr., and Harry Hanson.
Following a day off on Friday, it was off to the Hibbing Raceway in Hibbing, Minnesota on Saturday and Sunday for the 34th Annual 'Labor Day Shootout.' Brady started twentieth in the opener on Saturday and moved up to fourth before slipping over the banking and retiring in the twenty-first position. The Solon Springs, Wisconsin ace returned to his winning ways on Sunday, as he bested Zach Wohlers, Tom Waseleski, Jr., Lance Matthees, and Harry Hanson for the $3,500 victory. “It was a great weekend for our Brady Smith Racing team,” exclaimed the driver known as The Prodigy earlier this week. “Any time you can win three out of four races, especially when they are special events, that makes you feel good about where your program is at right now. We actually had a shot to win the race on Saturday at Hibbing, but I just slipped over the banking while going for second. I was up to fourth and tried to make something happen, but unfortunately it just didn’t work out. Hopefully, our car is just as strong this weekend at Grand Forks and we can put on a good show up there!”
