Dennis Erb, Jr. Eyes Wolverine State Double-Dip Following Sixth Win of Season

CARPENTERSVILLE, IL (August 16) - Dennis Erb Racing celebrated in victory lane for the sixth time in 2012 on Saturday night, August 11 at the LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois!  Dennis Erb, Jr. laid down the fastest lap in his group during the qualifying session and later ran second in heat race action.  The Carpentersville, Illinois ace then battled for the point early in the main event with Jason Feger before taking control and driving to the $2,000 American Late Model Series (ALMS) triumph.  Dennis beat Feger, Brian Shirley, Ryan Unzicker, and Bobby Pierce to the checkers at the 1/4-mile bullring.

A day earlier, Dennis entered another ALMS showdown on Friday at the Kankakee County Speedway in Kankakee, Illinois.  Dennis timed in third quickest in his group during the qualifying session and later took the win in his heat race.  After rolling off from the outside of the third row in the $3,000 to win A-Main, Dennis battled hard for a top five finish before slipping back to seventh at the checkers.  Full results from both ALMS battles can be viewed by clicking on www.americanlatemodelseries.com.

“It was a good confidence booster to get that win at LaSalle on Saturday,” quoted the soft-spoken Erb this week.  “We had some troubles up at Cedar Lake the weekend before, so it was good to regroup and get a victory.  I had a great battle with (Jason) Feger early in the feature at LaSalle, but we were able to drive off a little bit and the car kept getting better and better.”

Next up for the #28 team will be a trip to the Wolverine State of Michigan over the August 17-18 weekend for a pair of $10,000 to win World of Outlaws Late Model Series showdowns.  The Winston Speedway in Rothbury, Michigan will kick-off the doubleheader on Friday, while the Merritt Raceway in Lake City, Michigan will take center stage on Saturday evening.  Additional information on these two shows can be obtained by accessing www.worldofoutlaws.com.
