Josh McGuire Racing Readies for North/South 100 Following PRP Runner-Up

GRAYSON, KY (August 2) - The Josh McGuire Racing (JMR) team competed in one lone event this past weekend, as they invaded the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio on Saturday night, July 28 for a $2,000 to win weekly program.  Josh McGuire timed in fourth fastest during the qualifying session at PRP and later ran third in the dash.  After rolling off from the inside of the second row in the A-Main, Josh moved past polesitter R.J. Conley to land a strong runner-up performance behind only winner Eddie Carrier, Jr.  Full results from Portsmouth can be accessed online at www.portsraceway.com.

Josh and his #41 team plan to take the August 3-4 weekend off from racing action to prepare for the upcoming ‘North/South 100,’ which will take place on August 10-11 at the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky.  The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will once again preside over the crown jewel extravaganza that celebrates its thirtieth year of existence in 2012.  A whopping $50,000 top prize will be up for grabs at the King family 1/2-mile oval, while each ‘North/South 100’ starter will receive at least $2,500.  Additional information on Florence Speedway can be obtained by pointing your web browser to www.florencespeedway.com.
