MARS gets back in action with doubleheader at I-80 and Adams CountyThe MARS DIRTcar Series gets back underway this Friday June 29th at the I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, NE in an annual event known as the Midwest Trifecta. The Midwest Trifecta includes the Super Late Models, Sprint Cars and Modifieds. The Late Models are co-sanctioned by the Corn Belt Clash Series, the Midwest Late Model Racing Association and MARS. The Sprint Car portion of the event will be sanctioned by the ASCS Midwest Region and their feature event will pay $2,500 to win. The unsanctioned A Mod feature will pay $1,000 to win. In addition, some lucky fan will win $1,000 as they enter to pick the winner’s in all three feature events.
Late Model Drivers expected to compete for the $3,000 top prize include; Jesse Stovall, Tony Jackson Jr., Terry Phillips, Brandon Morton, Leroy Johnson, David Turner, John Anderson, Kyle Berck, Travis Dickes, Dave Eckrich, Denny Eckrich, Tim Isenberg, Jake Meier, Jason Rauen, Chad Simpson, Chris Simpson and defending race winner Jason Utter.
Grandstands open at 5:30pm with Hot Laps at 6:30pm and Racing at 7:15pm. Grandstand Admission is $20 for Adults, $5 for Juniors (6-12) with 5 and under free. I-80 Speedway is located just north of Exit #420 off Interstate 80 halfway between Omaha and Lincoln. For more information, visit

On June 30th the stars and cars of the MARS DIRTcar Series will head to the famed Adams County Speedway in Corning, IA for a $5,000 to win top prize that is also co-sanctioned with the Corn Belt Clash Series and the Midwest Late Model Racing Association.
The midwest's top late models will do battle for 50 laps with the winner taking home $5,000 and the first Liberty 50 trophy from the Adams County Speedway. Drivers expected to compete include; Jesse Stovall, Tony Jackson Jr., Terry Phillips, Brandon Morton, Leroy Johnson, David Turner, John Anderson, Kyle Berck, Travis Dickes, Dave Eckrich, Denny Eckrich, Jason Rauen, Chad Simpson, Chris Simpson, Corey Zeitner, Matt Furman, Jason Utter, Chris Speiker, Shawn Harker, Jason O’Brien, Mike Collins and many more.
Support classes will be racing for increased purses and each winner will get a provisional to the 2012 Tradition feature, but will not be racing for track or NASCAR points. No NASCAR license will be required to race or enter the pits. Gates will open at 4:00 with adult grandstand tickets priced at $20, teens are $10, and elementary students $2, with preschoolers free. The annual ACS Fireworks spectacular will also be a part of the evening's festivities.
