Nick Dickson Picks Up $5,000 at Winchester's 'Lee Stultz Memorial' Lewistown, PA (April 18) - Nick Dickson of Lewistown, PA and Nick Dickson Racing have made the most of their decision to switch chassis brands over the off-season while starting the 2012 season with two third place finishes (Williams Grove Speedway and Hagerstown Speedway) and now a win in his three starts after debuting his brand new Mastersbilt by Huey race car.
'We were looking for a little bit of change to help boost our racing program,' Dickson said about switching from Rocket Chassis to the Mastersbilt by Huey, 'and so far it's worked out pretty well for us.' Nick set fast time at this past weekend's 'Lee Stultz Memorial' at Winchester Speedway in Winchester, VA, won his heat race, and led all of the caution free 40 laps of the feature event to claim his first ever win at Winchester Speedway and cash in on the $5,000 winner's purse.
'This is just the third time out for this car.' Nick said in Victory Lane. 'Luck plays a big part in these (pill) draw races and when we drew the one pill for time trials, I figured we'd be ok.' Heavy lapped traffic gave Dickson fits during the race. 'That race felt like it was 12-hours long! Going green to checker like that is tough because you don't know how big of a lead you have, and there are so many good cars here you really have to be careful in traffic, but it all worked out good for us tonight."
Nick plans to enter the 31st Annual 'Stanley Schetrompf Memorial' this Saturday, April 21 at Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, MD. The $10,000 to-win event is sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Dickson will then head back to Winchester Speedway in Winchester, VA on Saturday, April 28 for 'Hershey Race Engines Night' featuring a $2,000 to-win main event.
