Gentry Scores a Second Place at Duck River Speedways Season Openerby Josh Plant
Murfreesboro, TN (04/11/2012)- David Earl Gentry wheeled the Eades Farm/CSB Consultants/Hardy and Associates/Mastersbilt super late model to a second place finish this past Saturday night at Duck River Speedways season opener.
Gentry Motorsports returned to their home turf after a few weeks of no racing for the team. Gentry went out and qualified fifth on the field of eight cars in attendance in the super late model division.
Starting fifth in the 25 lap feature, When the green flag waved, Gentry made no haste to start making moves to the front of the pack. As the laps click down, Gentry worked his way up to fourth, as caution would wave for the second place running of #17R of Brad Skinner, who collected the wall and blew out a tire he would retire for the night and that would bump Gentry up to the third spot for the restart behind the #98 of Eric Hickerson. Gentry would get the jump on Hickerson on the restart and get by him and take the second position . Gentry would make a run at race the leader on the next lap and show Miller his nose coming out of turn two on the bottom side of the track as Miller ran the high side, Miller would have the momentum and pull ahead of Gentry. As the last lap wound down Gentry would settle for a second place finish on the night.
