Bub McCool Finishes Second at Pelican 100; Whynot Up Nextby Ben Shelton
Vicksburg, MS (03/21/12) –Bub McCool registered a second place finish over the course of last weekend in his #57J McCool Logging/Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer/Jay Dickens Racing Engine Super Late Model at the 2nd Annual Pelican 100.
Bub recorded his best finish of the season so far last weekend as he posted a second place effort in the 2nd Annual Pelican 100 at Ark-La-Tex Speedway (Vivian, Louisiana). Twenty-six cars entered the $10,000-to-win event, and in preliminary action on Friday night, McCool managed the tenth fastest time in qualifications to lock into the fourth starting spot for the first heat race. He would advance one spot to a third place finish in the heat, which locked him into the seventh starting spot for the 100 lap finale on Saturday night.
On Saturday evening, McCool would quickly work his way into the top five early in the feature event. As the race progressed he would continue to work his way forward and would find his way into the second spot as the race approached its latter stages. As the white flag flew Bub would make a last ditch effort at the leader, Jesse Stovall, but would fall short of making the pass as he recorded a second place finish. Full results are available at
