Eric Cooley Rolls To First Victory of 2012

Fulton, MS (03/19/12) – Eric Cooley powered his #33b Bryson Motorsports/Barry Wright Crate Late Model to his first win of the season on Saturday night at Columbus Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi).

Eric pulled double duty on Saturday night at Columbus Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) during the 17th Annual James King Memorial as he took his #33b Bryson Motorsports/Barry Wright Crate Late and his #33c 78 Towing & Recovery/Victory Circle By Moyer/Jeff Burns Racing Engine Super Late Model into battle. The Super Late Model portion of the program was sanctioned by the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) as 36 cars entered the $5,000-to-win event. Via time trials Eric locked into the dash for the feature event. In the dash he finished eighth, which earned him the 8th starting spot for the feature. During the course of the 50 lap main event, he would advance to a fifth place finish behind race winner, Terry English, Scott Dedwylder, Kyle Beard, and Brian Rickman.

In the $700-to-win, Crate Late Model event Eric began the night by registering the fastest lap of the night in qualifications, which earned him $100 plus the pole position for the feature. He would grab the lead quickly in the feature and never looked back on his way to the win, which was his first of the year and the first for Norman Bryson.
