Mike Marlar To Enter Carolina Crown This Weekend

Winfield, Tennessee (03/14/12) – Mike Marlar has made the last minute decision to take his #5 Bryson Motorsports/Rocket/Clements Super Late Model into battle in the inaugural Carolina Crown at Lancaster Speedway (Lancaster, South Carolina).

Mike was last in action two weeks ago, March 3rd-4th, in his brand new, blue front-end Rocket at the 15th Annual Bama Bash at Green Valley Speedway (Glencoe, Alabama). The $15,015 to win event saw its start delayed a day by Mother Nature, and when action finally began on Saturday evening a field of 29 Super Late Models registered for action. Mike began the weekend by setting second fast time in his group before going on to claim the win in the third heat race. His heat race win positioned him in the third starting spot for Sunday evening's 75 lap, finale. As the race went green Mike would quickly work his way into the second position as he set his sights on the leader, Tim McCreadie. Marlar would chase McCreadie for the full 75 laps before settling for a second place finish. Full results are available at www.GreenValleySpeedway.com.

This weekend, March 16th-17th, Mike will pursue a $20,000 payday in the inaugural Carolina Crown at Lancaster Speedway (Lancaster, South Carolina).
