Josh McGuire Puts Exclamation Mark on 2011 Season with $5,000 Atomic VictoryGRAYSON, Ky. - The Josh McGuire Racing (JMR) team ended their 2011 racing season with a bang on Saturday night, November 5, as they captured a convincing win in the rain-postponed 'Trick or Treat Topless 50' at the Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio! After qualifying well in time trials, Josh McGuire won his loaded heat race over Scott James and track champion Delmas Conley.
Josh once again sported a bad fast racecar during the unsanctioned 50-lapper, as he drove to the front of the field and captured the point on lap thirteen. The Grayson, Kentucky ace stretched his lead throughout the remainder of the 'Trick or Treat Topless 50' en route to claiming the $5,000 payday over Jackie Boggs, Scott James, R.J. Conley, and Rod Conley.
"Now that is a way to finish a season," exclaimed McGuire following his sixth triumph of the '11 campaign. "Every driver wants to end their season on a winning note, but very few actually do. Our car was excellent all night at Atomic last Saturday and I was able to get out front and run the line I wanted to run. Overall, we had a pretty good season, aside from a few mechanical issues here and there. I have to thank all of my great sponsors, product supporters, fans, family, and crew for all of their support this year and I am already looking forward to the 2012 season!"
JMR put up some impressive statistics during the course of their 2011 season. Josh entered thirty-one Dirt Late Model events this year and recorded six wins, twelve Top Fives, and fifteen Top Tens.
