Scott James Preps for Season Finale at Florence Following DTWC

BRIGHT, Ind. (October 20) - The Riggs Motorsports team and driver Scott James traveled to the newly renamed Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio on October 14-15 for the 31st Annual 'Dirt Track World Championship.'  The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned the $50,000 to win crown jewel event and a solid ninety car field converged on the 3/8-mile facility.  Due to persistent rain showers on Friday night, the entire show was condensed into a one day program starting Saturday afternoon.

Scott timed in fifth fastest in his group during the qualifying session on Saturday and later grabbed the third and final transfer spot in his stacked heat race.  With track conditions providing one-lane racing all day and no track prep, the 100-lap DTWC was no different and passing was virtually impossible.  Scott started fifteenth on the grid, made a few laps, and later pulled into the infield to settle for a twentieth place finish.

Following the lackluster DTWC program, the #81 team will set their sights on the annual running of the ‘Fall 50’ on Saturday night, October 22 at the Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky.  The unsanctioned event at the 1/2-mile, high-banked venue will pay $5,000 to the winner.  Scott is a multi-time winner at Florence this year and would like to add one more victory to his resume in his season finale on Saturday.

Scott James and the Riggs Motorsports team would like to thank the following group of sponsors for their continued support:  Clearwave Communications, Murphy Motorsports, JFR Graphics, Rocket Chassis, Jay Dickens Racing Engines, A-1 Technologies, Bert Transmission, Beyea Headers, Braswell Carburetion, Dan Olson Racing Products, Delph Communications, Dyer’s Top Rods, Goodridge, GW Performance, Hoosier Racing Tires, Integra Shocks, Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil, Jones Racing Products, Performance Bodies, Peterson Fluid Systems, R2C Performance, Sweet Mfg., VP Race Fuels, Weld Wheels, Wiles Driveshafts, Wilwood Engineering.
