Josh McGuire Records First Career Win at K-C Raceway Leading into DTWC!

GRAYSON, Ky. - The Josh McGuire Racing (JMR) team claimed their fifth feature win of the 2011 campaign on Saturday night, October 8 at the K-C Raceway in Chillicothe, Ohio! During the qualifying session at the 3/8-mile facility, Josh McGuire laid down the second fastest lap. After being inverted four spots prior to his heat race, Josh stormed to the front of the field to claim the prelim triumph. The Grayson, Kentucky native then redrew the sixth starting position prior to the unsanctioned main event, but once again proved to be the class of the field. Josh grabbed the top spot shortly after the halfway point in the A-Main and motored to the $2,000 victory over Donnie Moran, Rod Conley, Delmas Conley, and Jason Montgomery.

"Our night at K-C went really well and I am glad we opted to race there to get some laps heading into the Dirt Track World Championship," commented McGuire recently. "We qualified well, won the heat race, and came to the front after starting sixth in the feature. As good as the car was last Saturday, it will be hard for me to change anything on it heading into the DTWC this weekend. We'll see what the weather does and how the track is and hopefully we can run strong again at K-C this weekend!

Fresh off his first career victory at the K-C Raceway in Chillicothe, Ohio last Saturday night, Josh McGuire and his #41 team are actively preparing their equipment for a return to the south-central Ohio track on October 14-15 for the 31st Annual U. S. Steel 'Dirt Track World Championship.' The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will sanction the crown jewel event, which boasts a whopping $50,000 payday. Josh has reached an agreement with race title sponsor U. S. Steel to carrier their logo and colors on the sides of his MasterSbilt racecar during the DTWC weekend. This will be the second time that JMR and U. S. Steel have paired up, as Josh also piloted a U. S. Steel car for the 2010 'USA Nationals' at the Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin.

"It is truly an honor to be able to work with U. S. Steel, Scott Coleman, and their team of employees once again," McGuire went on to say. "Our 2010 U. S. Steel debut at the USA Nationals at Cedar Lake (WI) Speedway was definitely a highlight of our team's career - as I am sure this DTWC weekend will be too. We consider K-C Raceway to be one of our local tracks and getting to share this U. S. Steel experience with our fans, sponsors, and team just makes this opportunity that much more thrilling! We can't thank everyone involved enough - it is going to be a great weekend!"

United States Steel Corporation, headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is an integrated steel producer with major production operations in the United States, Canada, and Central Europe. The company manufactures a wide range of value-added steel sheet and tubular products for the automotive, appliance, container, industrial machinery, construction, and oil and gas industries.
