Klint Byars Clinches MSCCS Title & Rookie of the Year Honors

Carrollton, Mississippi (10/04/11) – After a turbulent season with the tour Klint Byars finally closed the door on the 2011 Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) on Saturday night in his #5 Southern Belle/K&K Motorsports/Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer/Jay Dickens Racing Engine Super Late Model, and when the final checkered flag dropped he was crowned the 2011 MSCCS Champion and Rookie of the Year.

Saturday night was a big night in the young career of Klint Byars as he claimed his first series championship as he clinched the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) Championship as well as the 2011 MSCCS Rookie of the Year honors by entering the event at Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, Mississippi).

Twenty-three cars were on hand for the event, and in time trials Klint set fast time in his group to lock into the pole-sitter's dash, where he raced his way to a third place finish to lock into the third starting spot for the $2,500 to win, 50 lap feature. He would race at the front of the pack for the duration of the event before crossing the finish line in the third spot behind race winner, Jason Cliburn, and Jeremy Broadus.

Klint will take the next two weeks off from racing as he is currently assembly his new Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer in preparation for the 17th Annual Fall Classic, which will be held October 20th-22nd at Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi). After picking three wins at the facility already in 2011, Byars is eager to take a stab at claiming his first event title in the $15,000-to-win/$1,000-to-start race.
