Jared Landers Finishes Fourth in 32nd Annual Jackson 100

by Ben Shelton
Batesville, Arkansas (09/28/11) – Jared Landers took part in the 32nd Annual Jackson 100 over the weekend in his #777 Clint Bowyer Motorsports/Rocket/Earnhardt Childress Racing Engine Super Late Model, and he would race his way to a fourth place finish in the historic event.

A wet and dreary weekend found Jared in action in the 32nd Annual Jackson 100 at Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Indiana) as 39 cars entered the $20,011-to-win, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series-sanctioned event. On Friday night he qualified sixth fastest in his group to lock into the third starting spot for the second heat race, which was held on Saturday night.

Wet conditions resulted in a rough and fast track on Saturday night, and Jared would start the night by finishing third in his heat to lock into the eleventh starting spot for the 100 lap feature. During the course of the attrition-filled feature Landers would race his way through the field en route to a fourth place finish behind race winner, Scott Bloomquist, Jimmy Owens, and Don O'Neal.

Jared continues to lead the Quarter Master Rookie of the Year standings and is fifth in the overall tour standings.

This weekend, September 29th-October 1st, the team heads northwest to Knoxville Raceway (Knoxville, Iowa) for the 8th Annual Lucas Oil Knoxville Late Model Nationals, which will be sanctioned the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS). With over a quarter of a million dollars in payout on the line the event gets underway with a $7,000-to-win event on Thursday night before seeing another $7,000-to-win event contested on Friday night. Saturday night's program will be headlined by a $40,000-to-win, 100 lap finale.
