Scott James Competes in World 100; Changes Schedule to Florence for this Weekend

BRIGHT, Ind. (September 15) - The Riggs Motorsports team and driver Scott James made their yearly trek to the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on September 9-10 for the 41st Annual 'World 100.'  On Friday night, Scott laid down the twenty-seventh quickest lap of the 112 entrants during the two-round qualifying session.  When the action heated back up on Saturday evening at the "Big E," Scott advanced up to second in his loaded heat race to earn the ninth starting spot in the $44,000 to win 'World 100.'

In front of a huge throng of fans at the 1/2-mile, high-banked speedplant, Scott mounted a strong charge in the 100-lapper.  He was knocking on the door to the top five when he unfortunately retired on lap 75 with a broken right front lower control arm.  The Bright, Indiana native wound up a disappointing twentieth in the final rundown of the 2011 'World 100.' Complete results from Eldora can be accessed by clicking on www.eldoraspeedway.com.

The #81 team had plans earlier this week to travel to Illinois and Missouri to race this weekend, but has instead changed their racing schedule.  Scott will now invade the nearby Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky on Saturday night, September 17.  The track’s season championship race will be held on Saturday and a $2,000 top prize will be on the line.  Additional information on this program can be located by pointing your web browser to www.florencespeedway.com.

Scott James and the Riggs Motorsports team would like to thank the following group of sponsors for their continued support:  Clearwave Communications, Murphy Motorsports, JFR Graphics, Rocket Chassis, Jay Dickens Racing Engines, A-1 Technologies, Bert Transmission, Beyea Headers, Braswell Carburetion, Dan Olson Racing Products, Delph Communications, Dyer’s Top Rods, Goodridge, GW Performance, Hoosier Racing Tires, Integra Shocks, Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil, Jones Racing Products, Performance Bodies, Peterson Fluid Systems, R2C Performance, Sweet Mfg., VP Race Fuels, Weld Wheels, Wiles Driveshafts, Wilwood Engineering.
