Billy Moyer Victorious at Farmer City; Seeks Seventh Globe Trophy this WeekendBATESVILLE, Ark. (September 8) - The Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) team racked up their eleventh feature win of the 2011 campaign on Sunday night, September 4 at the Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois! After laying down the third quickest lap in his group during the qualifying session, Billy Moyer won his heat race to earn the pole position for the night's UMP DIRTcar Series main event. The driver known as "Mr. Smooth" passed leader Brian Shirley early in the A-Main and dominated the remainder of the race to secure the $5,000 payday ahead of Bobby Pierce, Brian Shirley, Shannon Babb, and Dennis Erb, Jr.!
Earlier in the Labor Day holiday weekend, Billy was in action at both the Peoria Speedway in Peoria, Illinois and the Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois. On Thursday evening at Peoria, Billy won his heat race and finished a strong runner-up behind winner Jason Feger in the $2,000 to win Northern Allstars Late Model Series feature event. At Fairbury on Friday, the Batesville, Arkansas native wound up third in the $5,000 to win 'Prairie Dirt Shootout' behind only winner Brian Shirley and runner-up Jason Feger. Saturday's $10,000 to win 'Prairie Dirt Classic' at Fairbury unfortunately succumbed to persistent rain showers courtesy of Mother Nature. "Hopefully that victory at Farmer City will lead to some success at Eldora this weekend," quipped Moyer this week. "We have been off just a touch lately, but maybe we have hit on something again. The weekend in Illinois was pretty good to us, but I am really looking forward to getting back to Eldora. It would be really special to get another globe trophy and that is what we are shooting for this weekend!"
Next up for the #21 team will be a trip to the hallowed grounds of the Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on September 9-10 for the 41st Annual 'World 100.' Weather pending, qualifying will be held at the "Big E" on Friday night, while the heat races, consolation events, and the $44,000 to win 'World 100' are all slated for Saturday evening. Billy will be looking for his seventh 'World 100' title this weekend, as he has taken home the famed globe trophy in 1991, 1993, 1994, 1998, 2000, and 2010.
