Wendell Wallace Bags $4,000 4-State Dirt Track Championship at Monett; Harrisburg Up NextBATESVILLE, Ark. (September 8) - Wendell Wallace and his #88 team continued their winning ways on Sunday, September 4, as they captured the victory in the 40th Annual '4-State Dirt Track Championship' at the Monett Speedway in Monett, Missouri! After winning his heat race in preliminary action at Monett, Wendell also proved to have the car to beat in the 30-lap A-Main from his outside front row starting spot. The Batesville, Arkansas ace recorded his sixth feature victory of 2011 and cashed the $4,000 winner's check by beating Jesse Stovall, Terry Phillips, Jeremy Payne, and Brad Looney to the checkers. "It has been a pretty good stretch for us," commented Wallace when speaking of his recent wins. "We keep working on this car and seem to be going in the right direction with it. Hopefully, we can keep the #88 up front again this weekend at Harrisburg and do some damage in that $5,000 to win show."
The Wendell Wallace Autosports team will look to extend their recent hot streak over the September 9-10 weekend at the Northeast Arkansas Speedway in Harrisburg, Arkansas. The Comp Cams Super Dirt Series will sanction the inaugural running of the 'Rockabilly 45' and a $5,000 top prize will be up for grabs. A pair of heat races will be held at Harrisburg on Friday night, while Saturday's portion of the program will be headlined by a 45-lap feature event.
