Dowdy’s Weekend Bitter Sweet at Thunderhill Raceway

Waterloo, Al (9/07/2011) - Mark Dowdy Racing hit the high banks of Thunderhill Raceway this past weekend September 3rd. Dowdy would qualify fifth quick with a 13.195 second lap in the Pittman Dutton and Hellums Law firm, FK Rod Ends, JPM Promotions Warrior Chassis.

As feature time rolled onto the speedway for the 20 lap event, Dowdy was set to make moves on the front runners. As the green flag waved, Dowdy fired like a bullet. Staying in reach of the leaders, Dowdy ran amongst them nearly capitalizing to get the third position, but mechanical failure would end the night as the Ignition box quit working with 6 laps in the books. That would end the night for the MDR team and a 14th place finish.
