NCRA DIRTcar Series Belleville High Banks September 4, 2011 ________________________________________
Anderson Wires NCRA DIRTcar Late Model Field at the High Banks
by David Smith Jr BELLEVILLE, Kansas (September 4) - John Anderson of Omaha, Nebraska started on the pole and never looked back in claiming his first feature victory of the season with the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Smiley’s Racing Products DIRTcar late model division as the tour made their second and final appearance of the season at the Belleville High Banks in Belleville, Kansas on Sunday night.
Anderson, aboard the familiar #2 Shop Quik/All-Star Performance sponsored Masterbuilt late model, used the Jay Dickens power plant to take the lead at the start of the fifteen lap feature over pole sitter Steve Kempt.
Anderson would open up a full stretch lead over Kempt and despite a caution with two laps to go for current series points leader Steve Kosiski’s flat right rear tire, would survive the restart and never look back in claiming his fourth career series victory atop the Belleville High Banks.
Kempt would settle for second and officially claim the inaugural championship for the series Great Plains region. Gary Gorby came home third while Earl Kinderknecht finished fourth. Dave Conkwright started ninth and would round out the top five.
Jimmy Seagraves originally crossed the line to finish third but would later be disqualified for being light at the scales.
Seagraves and Anderson would top heat race action for the fifteen car field.
The final event on the 2011 NCRA DIRTcar late model tour will be held on Friday and Saturday night, September 23-24, as the tour makes their first appearance in almost ten years at the big half mile oval of Thunderbird Speedway in Muskogee, Oklahoma for the topless “Late Model Thunderfest Shootout.” Friday night’s feature winner will earn $2500 while Saturday night’s winner will take home $3000. If a driver can sweep both nights features there will be a $500 bonus.
