Scott James Remains Second in UMP Summer Nationals Points Heading into Final Week

BRIGHT, Ind. (July 12) - The Riggs Motorsports team will embark on the final week of the grueling UMP Summer Nationals starting tonight, July 12 at the historic Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana.  In all, the “Hell Tour” still has five events remaining for the #81 team in the states of Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio.  Scott James comes into the final week second in the latest version of the UMP Summer Nationals point standings behind leader Shannon Babb.  The Bright, Indiana native will tackle the following venues this week to close out the series:

July 12 | Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Indiana) | $5,000 to win
July 13 | LaSalle Speedway (LaSalle, Illinois) | $5,000 to win
July 14 | Spoon River Speedway (Banner, Illinois) | $5,000 to win
July 15 | Attica Raceway Park (Attica, Ohio) | $5,000 to win
July 16 | Oakshade Raceway (Wauseon, Ohio) | $10,000 to win

Last week, Scott put up some impressive numbers, as he amassed a trio of Top Five finishes in the four UMP Summer Nationals showdowns that were entered into the record books.  The driver known as the “Silver Shark” racked up a pair of runner-up performances last week on the tour, as he finished second at both the Peoria Speedway in Peoria, Illinois on Wednesday and on Sunday at the Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Indiana. In both instances, Scott followed only point leader Shannon Babb to the checkers in the $5,000 to win shows.
