Morgan Bagley Bags Pair of Weekend Triumphs

Longview, Texas (07/06/11) – Another weekend and two more victories for Morgan Bagley as he piloted his #14m McMillan Motorsports/Rocket By Club 29 Super Late Model to a pair of wins over the holiday weekend.

Morgan opened the weekend's O'Reilly SUPR Super Late Model tripleheader at 171 Speedway (Leesville, Louisiana) with a $2,000 to win event. After starting seventh in his heat, he advanced to a third place finish, which earned him the fourth starting spot in the 21 car grid for the feature. He would advance one spot in the main event to record a third place finish behind winner, Robbie Stuart, and Kevin Sitton.

On Saturday night the action shifted to Champion Park Speedway (Minden, Louisiana) for a $3,000 to win, O'Reilly SUPR Super Late Model event that drew a field of 28 cars. After starting sixth in his heat race, Bagley blasted to the heat race win, which earned him the pole position for the 50 lap feature with Ray Moore starting to his outside. For the first half of the race, Bagley would battle Timothy Culp for the top spot, holding a narrow advantage. The second half of the race would see Ray Moore take the second position from Culp as he began swapping the lead with Bagley before Morgan pulled away in the closing laps to take his fifth win of the year, which came over Ray Moore, Kyle Cummings, Timothy Culp, and Brett Frazier.

Sunday night saw Bagley concluding his busy weekend, and he would do it in fine style as he raced his #14m Rocket By Club 29 Super Late Model to the $2,500 feature win over a field of 27 Super Late Models.

The night started with Morgan charging from fourth in his heat race to finish second. Via his heat race finish, he started sixth on the grid for the main event. By the time that the caution flew on lap 9, he was already up to the third position. On the ensuing restart, Bagley would use a move on the highside to drive past Allen Tippen and Rob Litton to take the lead. He would go onto lead the remainder of the event to claim his sixth of the season, and he was followed across the line by Allen Tippen and Gary Christian.

This weekend, July 7th-9th, Morgan will make his first trip of the year to Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) for the $20,000 to win/$1,000 to start, Clash at the Mag, which will be sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS). The event will see an Open Practice Session held on Thursday night with time trials and heat races on Friday night, while Saturday night is headlined by b-mains and the 100 lap finale. The SPEED TV cameras will be on hand to catch all of the action for a future broadcast.
