Scott James Still Second in UMP Summer Nationals Points Following Seven-Race Week

BRIGHT, Ind. — The Riggs Motorsports team and driver Scott James are in the midst of the grueling UMP Summer Nationals tour, as thirteen races are now in the record book and only ten events still remain.  Last week, Scott entered seven “Hell Tour” shows from June 28-July 4 in the states of Indiana, Illinois, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, and Iowa.  The Bright, Indiana ace amassed one Top Five finish and three additional Top Ten performances.

His best effort of the week came back on Tuesday night, June 28 at the Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, Indiana.  Scott ran second in his heat race at the tiny 1/4-mile oval and later rolled off from the outside of the third row in the $5,000 to win main event.  During the course of the caution-free 40-lapper, Scott moved up two positions to land in the fourth spot behind only winner Shannon Babb, Jason Feger, and Ryan Unzicker.  You can view all of Scott’s finishes below or you can read a race-by-race recap online at www.ScottJamesMotorsports.com.

Following a rare day off yesterday, the #81 team will return to UMP Summer Nationals action tonight, July 6, at the Peoria Speedway in Peoria, Illinois.  From July 6-10, five series races will be held in the states of Illinois, Tennessee, and Indiana.  Scott comes into tonight second in the latest “Hell Tour” point standings.  You can watch the “Silver Shark” sling dirt at the following Midwestern venues this week:
