Scott James Prepares for Run at UMP Summer Nationals TitleBRIGHT, Ind. (June 15) - Scott James and the #81 Riggs Motorsports team ventured to the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio over the June 10-11 weekend for the 17th Annual 'Dream 100.' A stout ninety-one car field assembled at the "Big E," with each driver eying the hefty $100,000 top prize. Scott started off his weekend by posting the thirty-fourth fastest lap during Friday's qualifying session, which allowed him to start on the pole of one of the six heat races on Saturday.
The driver known as the "Silver Shark" was running a close second to Will Vaught in the waning laps of his heat race when he decided to go for the lead. Unfortunately, Will bobbled against the cushion and turned down into Scott coming off turn two, which sent his #81 spinning into the inside wall. The team made repairs to their Rocket racecar and was running strong in the C-Main until motor problems sidelined them for the night. Complete results from the disappointing weekend at Eldora can be accessed online at

The grueling month-long journey will take Scott to twenty-four different venues in nine states from June 15-July 16. Weather pending, action is supposed to kick-off tonight, June 15 at the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana with a $5,000 to win event.
