Dane Laraway gets runner-up after eight straight rainouts

The start of the 2011 race season was rain-soaked and saw the first eight (8) races of the season cancelled.

However, the racing season finally got underway on Saturday, May 21, 2011, at Marion Center Speedway, where Dane finished the feature event in second (2nd) position; the same position in which he started.

Racing at Dog Hollow Speedway was once again cancelled due to rain on Friday, May 27.  The second race of the season was Saturday, May 28, at Marion Center Speedway.  Dane started the feature event ninth (9th) position and once again finished in second (2nd) position.

On Friday June 3, 2011, Dog Hollow Speedway was finally able to open.  Dane started the feature event in the eighth (8th) position. On lap 6 of the 25 lap event he was passing for 5th but was knocked off of the back straightaway of the track. Unfortunately, Dane was forced to retire the car to the pits for the remainder of the race.  

The Featured Sponsor on the filler panel of Dane’s car for the past two (2) weeks has been Dart Coatings. Laraway Motorsports would like to thank Dart Coatings for all of their help over the winter.  The next two weeks of racing will feature Lias Tire of Indiana on the filler panel of the car.
