Klint Byars Goes Two For Three on Memorial Day Weekend

Carrollton, Mississippi (06/01/11) –Klint Byars continued his blistering start to the 2011 season over the Memorial Day weekend as he powered his #5 Southern Belle/K&K Motorsports/Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer/Jay Dickens Racing Engine Super Late Model to a pair of wins.

With three events scheduled for the weekend, Friday night found Klint back in action with the MSCCS Super Late Model tour as he took the tour point's lead and the series' overall lead into Hattiesburg Motorsports Park (Hattiesburg, Mississippi). Twenty Super Late Models entered the $2,000 to win race, and in time trials, Klint was second fastest in his group to earn the third starting spot for the dash. He would race his way to a second place finish in the dash, which left him starting outside front row, alongside Rodney Wing, for the feature. Byars would grab the lead as the race went green on the 1/4 mile oval and would go on to lead the duration of the event to claim the victory over David Breazeale and Brooks Strength. The feature triumph was his fourth of the young season and further padded his point's lead!

Klint's dream start to the season rolled into Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi) on Saturday night for a $5,000 to win, Southern All Stars Super Late Model event. Thirty-three Super Late Models entered the event, and Klint, who is the current track record holder at the facility, started the night by setting quick time around the oval to earn the pole starting spot for the main event. In the feature he would quickly work his way to the lead and would go on to claim the win by a straightaway over Tony Knowles, and Brian Reese. The win was the biggest of his career and his fifth of the season.

K&K Motorsports closed out their ultra-busy weekend on Sunday night with another $5,000 to win, Southern All Stars Super Late Model event at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi). A strong field of 47 entries were on hand, and after falling just short of locking into the feature via time trials, Klint won his b-main to earn the 14th starting spot for the 50 lap finale. During the course of the event he would progressively work his way through the pack to a seventh place finish at the checkered flag.

The upcoming weekend will see Byars enter a single event as he returns to Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) for the $5,000 to win/$300 to start, 8th Annual Coca Cola Governor's Cup, which will be sanctioned by the PRO Dirt Car Series.

K&K Motorsports would like to thank its sponsors including Southern Belle, Byars Motorsports, Jay Dickens Suspension, Hoosier Race Tires, K&K Quik Stop, Lovorn & Lovorn Trucking, Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer, Bona-Fide Southern, X-Treme Graphics By J-Rod, & MSRMafia.com .
