Eric Wells Claims Top Ten at The Gap; Lucas Oil Action This Weekend

Hazard, Kentucky (05/10/11) – Eric Wells powered his #18 Wells Motorsports/Rocket/Custom Racing Engine Super Late Model to a top ten finish on Friday night at Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tennessee) in the $5,000 to win, Border Wars event.

Eric was back behind the wheel of his #18 Wells Motorsports entry on Friday night at Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tennessee) in a $5,000 to win, Border Wars event. Thirty Super Late Models entered the event, and via time trials, Eric locked into the 17th starting spot for the feature on an extremely rough track. Wells would race smart in the feature and was able to conserve his equipment to finish ninth in an event where attrition was high.

Wells Motorsports will be back on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) tour this weekend, May 13th-14th, with a pair of events in Iowa and Illinois. The weekend's festivities get underway on Friday night at 34 Raceway (Burlington, Iowa) with a $10,000 to win event, before traveling east on Saturday night for another $10,000 to win race at LaSalle Speedway (LaSalle, Illinois). Eric is 14th in the latest tour standings, but with momentum on his side from the past month he will look to make up more ground in this weekend's events.
