John Kuntz Memorial at Springfield Raceway Saturday May 14, 2011

(May 10, 2011) Buckner, MO -After an off weekend for the Lucas Oil MLRA, drivers will take to the Springfield Raceway on Saturday night. The Annual John Kuntz Memorial Presented by Andy's Frozen Custard draws a great field of racers and packs the stands full of fans.

Last year Terry Phillips driver of the number 75 Andy's Frozen Custard GRT by Phillips took top honors in his hometown. This season a points battle is already heating up among top Lucas Oil MLRA contenders, with just a few points between each of the top 5 drivers. Phillips will have to remain consistent at Springfield Raceway to win again.

Current Lucas Oil MLRA points leader Jesse Stovall has seven time series champion Al Purkey looming just 2 points behind him in second. The quickly approaching Show-Me 100 keeps drivers vying for the top two points positions to be awarded a provisional starting spot in the big show. Just behind Purkey in third is Kyle Berck, followed by Terry Phillips and rounding out the top five is John Anderson. One spot outside the top five is Brad Looney. Looney finished second in Lucas Oil MLRA points in 2010 and is looking to break into the top five.

Saturday May 14, 2011, grandstand admission will be $20.00 for Adults and the grandstands will open at 5PM. PitGates for this event will open at 3:00 with local divisions drivers meeting at 5:45 and Hotlaps at 6:15, racing is slated to start at 7PM.
