ADKINS & OSBORNE WIN BEFORE RAIN ABORTS HILLTOP ACTION

The night started out under sunny skies with the pits overflowing of 173 cars but ended with rain falling just into start of the Holmes Tire Super Late Model feature. A total of 19 heat races, 7 last chance races and two dashs and two complete features were recorded before the night ended with the rain falling. Killbuck’s Terry Adkins charged into turn one on the start of the Mini Stock feature from the outside front row starting position and never looked back to score his second win of the season. Polesitter Kevin Markey had a shot at getting by Adkins’ #49 on a lap nine restart following a red flag for Jason St. John, who was running fourth when he flipped over in turn three. Adkins would speed off from Markey who then had to hold off James Priebe the last three laps. Action was tight for fourth as Gary Hensel Jr., Chase Alexander, Bobby Stamper, and Dustin Daugherty put on a race long battle would change positions on every lap before ending up in that finishing order. Priebe, Adkins, and Hensel Jr. were the heat winners as Jerry Adkins won the last chance race.

Chase Osborne of Zanesville grabbed the lead on lap four of the Mini Wedge main when Tanner McLoughlin dropped out with mechanical problems after leading the opening two circuits. The Sign Pro of Zanesville, Bates Auto, and Wetzel Motorsports # 75 of Osborne was followed by Brady Reed, Phil Bubeck, Triston Lillibridge and Blake Morris. The heats were topped by Osborne and McLoughlin.

A quick shower hit on lap two of the Holmes Tire Super Late Model main to stop the action momentarily then racing would resume only to last three more laps before the skies opened up with a down pour that would end the nights action. This feature will be concluded on May 14th as next week it will be the Holmes County 30 with $2,000 waiting on the feature winner. Fast qualifier was Doug Drown as Spud Myers won the dash and heat wins went to Alan Baker, Charlie Duncan, Shane McLoughlin and George Lee. Last chance winners were Mark Gardiner and Kyle Bates.

The Tri State Modifieds will make their feature up next week, May 7th plus a regular show on tap for them. Kevin Morehouse was the quick timer while Larry Kugel won the dash as Jesse Wisecarver, Matt Schroyer, Kenny Johnson and Darrick Hubbard notched the heat wins. Anthony Kincaid and Rick Mardis scored the last chance wins.

The make up feature for the Street Stocks will also be run on May 14th as the preliminary races for them saw Brandon Gardner, Gary McGregor, Timmy Glassburn and Ed Leasure win the heats and Kyle Moore and Rich Frame chalking up the last chance wins.

The Circle Track Trucks will pull double duty next week with the rained out main added to their regular show. David Potts and Jack Large took home the heat wins.

The schedule for next week will be the Holmes Tire Super Late Models running the Holmes County 30 with the Tri State Modifieds and the Circle Track Trucks running double features and regular shows for the Street Stocks, Mini Stocks and Mini Wedges. The racing program for May 14th will be $5.00 GENERAL ADMISSION and double features for the Holmes Tire Super Late Models and the Street Stocks and then a regular show for the Tri State Modifieds, Mini Stocks, Circle Track Trucks and Mini Wedges .
