CCSDS and MARS Go To War in Doubleheader This Weekend

Beebe, Arkansas (04/19/11) – This weekend, April 22nd-23rd, the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) and Mid America Racing Series (MARS) will go head-to-head in a pair of events in Arkansas and Missouri.

With two events already in the books for the CCSDS in 2011, history has been made as two first time winners found their way into victory lane. Allen Murray won a thriller at Beebe Speedway (Beebe, Arkansas) on April 8th, while 16 year old, Austin Rettig claimed his first win by just 0.040 seconds over Billy Moyer Jr. at Riverside International Speedway (West Memphis, Arkansas) on April 9th.

Heading into this weekend's events Rettig leads the points over Gary Christian, Jon Mitchell, Johnny Virden, Dewaine Hottinger, Kyle Beard, Brandon Smith, Billy Moyer Jr., Clay Fisher, and Allen Murray.

The Kuntz & Co. Rookie of the Year battle is a dead heat with three drivers tied for the lead including Curtis Cook, Ian Samuel, and Shane Harris, while Keith Lawson is just two points removed from making it a four way tie.

Drivers looking to make up ground in the points after a rough opening weekend include Bill Frye, who is the defending COMP Cams Super Dirt Series champion, as well as Jon Kirby, Jeff Sloan, Terry Henson, and Wesley Crutchfield.

Joining the CCSDS drivers this weekend will formidable foe of competitors from the MARS Super Late Model tour including defending champion, Terry Phillips, Brad Looney, RC Whitwell, Jessie Stovall, Jeremy Payne, Tony Jackson Jr., Brandon McCormick, Leroy Johnson, and more!

The double shot will get underway on Friday night, April 22nd at Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Arkansas) as the tour's clash in a 35 lap, $2,000 to win/$300 to start event. The Super Late Models will be joined on the program by Open Wheel Modifieds, Street Stocks, E-Mods, and Front Wheel Drives in a program sponsored by Auto Services Company, Inc. On Saturday night, the action shifts north to West Plains Motor Speedway (West Plains, Missouri) for a $3,000 to win/$400 to start event at the 3/8 mile, clay oval. A complete racing program of Open Wheel Modifieds, B-Mods, Super Stocks, Hobby Stocks, and Youth Hobbies will be on the program. Gates open at 5pm with hot laps at 6:30pm and racing action at 7:30pm. MARS and COMP Cams Super Dirt Series Double Header

The MARS DIRTcar Series and the Arkansas based COMP Cams Super Dirt Series or CCSDS will go head to head this weekend with a pair of events in Arkansas and Missouri.
