Scott James Eyes Trip to the Big E on Saturday Following Indiana Icebreaker

(BRIGHT, INDIANA)  Scott James and the #81 team ventured to the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana on Saturday, April 9 for the annual running of the 'Indiana Icebreaker.'  Despite nearly two inches of rain falling at the 1/4-mile fairgrounds facility earlier on Saturday, the one-day Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series program went off without a hitch.  Scott laid down a solid qualifying lap and later ran third in his stacked heat race to earn a coveted starting spot in the $10,000 to win main event.

The popular driver known as "The Silver Shark" started ninth in the 50-lapper and looked forward to the possibility of another stellar run in his Riggs Motorsports Rocket car.  Unfortunately, Scott unknowingly flipped the three-wheel brake switch sometime before the start of the 'Indiana Icebreaker' and didn't realize it until an early caution period.  By then, he had slipped back to around the twentieth spot, but was able to pass a few cars back to finish seventeenth in the final rundown.  Full results from Brownstown can be accessed online at www.lucasdirt.com.

Weather pending, Scott and the Riggs Motorsports gang plan to travel to the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on Saturday night, April 16.  The American Late Model Series (ALMS) will preside over all of the dirt-slinging action at the “Big E” and a $2,000 payday awaits the winner. Additional information on this one-day program can be located by clicking on www.eldoraspeedway.com.

Scott James and the Riggs Motorsports team would like to thank the following group of sponsors for their continued support:  Clearwave Communications, Murphy Motorsports, JFR Graphics, Rocket Chassis, Jay Dickens Racing Engines, A-1 Technologies, Bert Transmission, Beyea Headers, Braswell Carburetion, Dan Olson Racing Products, Delph Communications, Dyer’s Top Rods, Goodridge, GW Performance, Hoosier Racing Tires, Integra Shocks, Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil, Jones Racing Products, Performance Bodies, Peterson Fluid Systems, R2C Performance, VP Race Fuels, Weld Wheels, Wiles Driveshafts, Wilwood Engineering
