Austin Hubbard Sets Sights on Commonwealth 100 TitleSeaford, Delaware (04/12/11) – Austin Hubbard is preparing for what will be a homecoming of sorts this weekend, April 15th-16th, as he prepares to take his best shot at conquering the 2nd Annual NAPA of King William Commonwealth 100 at Virginia Motor Speedway (Jamaica, Virginia) .
Austin, who was the 2010 World of Outlaws Super Late Model Rookie of the Year, spent many of the developmental years of his young career turning laps at the 1/2 mile oval at Virginia Motor Speedway, and he is a former track champion and multi-time feature winner. Given his history at the track, it's obviously a sentimental favorite for him, so it's no secret that he would like nothing more than to claim the biggest win of his career at the facility in the upcoming weekend's 2nd Annual NAPA of King William Commonwealth 100. In addition to chasing the big win, Hubbard will be looking to reclaim the points lead in the World of Outlaws sanctioned event as he currently sits in the third position in the latest tour standings, just six points removed from the top spot. This weekend's event opens with time trials and heat race action on Friday night, April 15th. Saturday, April 16th will be highlighted by b-mains, a $3,000 to win non-qualifiers events, and the $25,000 to win/$2,000 to start, 100 lap finale. For more information, please visit

Last Saturday, Austin took advantage of a rare weekend off of the World of Outlaws tour to compete in a Weekly Racing Series Event at Delaware International Raceway (Delmar, Delaware). After finishing second in his heat race, Austin started tenth in the main event and would mount a great charge through the field, which saw his race his way to the second position. He would pursue Richard Jarvis Jr. late in the event, but would ultimately settle for a second place finish at the checkered flag.
