Joe Martin Opens 2011 Season with Win at Sharon Speedway

Ringgold, PA (April 12, 2011) JM2 Motorsports and third year driver Joe Martin of Ringgold, PA started his 2011 season off on a high note with a win at Hartford, OH's Sharon Speedway ahead of multi-time touring series champion, Max Blair and mentor Mike Blose this past Saturday, April 9.

Joe took the lead at the green and led every lap in route to a 1.682 second win over Blair and Blose. 'We started out on the front row and took the lead right away so it's hard to tell how good you are compared to everyone else,' Martin said about his victory. 'The car didn't feel perfect to me but no one ever got around us, so I guess we were good enough. It's just a great way to start off the year.' A modest Martin had nothing but praise for everyone involved with his race team, 'I couldn't do it without all of the good people around me. God has blessed me with so many great people that allow me to even race, let alone get wins. Chunk, Dad, Tyson, Brink, Andrew, Nim, Dick and Marty; those guys make it all a lot easier on me.' Joe continued, 'My girlfriend Keri pulled us a good pill and always supports me so I have to thank her, and my entire support group and fans. Up next for Joe and the JM2 Motorsports team is a trip to Tyler Co. Speedway in Middlebourne, WV for a $1,500 to-win 'Topless' Fastrak Northeast Touring event on Saturday, April 16. The following week Martin will invade Dog Hollow Speedway in Strongstown, PA for their opening night on Friday, April 22 and then return to Sharon Speedway on Saturday, April 23 for a regular show.
