Scott James Eyes Indiana Icebreaker Following Another Florence Top Five(BRIGHT, INDIANA) The Riggs Motorsports team and driver Scott James invaded the Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky on Saturday night, April 2 for their second event of the 2011 racing season. An unsanctioned showdown took place on Saturday at the Cincinnati area venue and a $3,000 top prize was up for grabs. Scott drew the ninth starting spot for his heat race, but passed seven competitors to finish second in his prelim.
The strong effort allowed Scott to start on the pole for the feature by virtue of accumulating the most passing points during the heat races. The Bright, Indiana native tried some different things setup-wise prior to the main event and although the car was fast, he slipped back to a fourth place finish. Scott crossed underneath the checkered flag behind only winner Greg Johnson, Jason Jameson, and Eddie Carrier, Jr. Full results from Florence can be found online at

Next up for the #81 team will be a trip to the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana on Saturday, April 9 for the annual running of the ‘Indiana Icebreaker.’ The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will once again sanction the one-day program, which boasts a $10,000 payday. A full show of qualifying, heat races, consolation events, and the 50-lap feature will headline the action at the 1/4-mile, semi-banked fairgrounds complex.
