Lernerville Test and Tune is in the Books
Opening Night 2011 is less than one week away!!

Sarver, PA (March 19, 2011) For many people, springtime consists of putting over used snow shovels and plows away, packing ones winter coat on the heels of a 74 degree Friday. For many race teams and fans their spring officially started today with the Lernerville Test & Tune practice session.

Many of our favorite Fab Four racing teams were given the chance to turn off the shop lights and head to Lernerville for the first practice of racing action of the year. The purpose of today’s practice was different for everybody. Whether it was to shakedown a new car perhaps, or simply fine tune an existing car, over seventy race teams packed the pits and took advantage of a fabulous spring day in Western PA.

The Ti22 Performance DIRTCar 410 Sprints had six drivers on hand including Defending Track Champion Danny Holtgraver, Ed Lynch Jr., Carl Bowser, Brandon Spithaler, Cory Good, and Rick Landrum, and the 305 of Stevie Lucas.

The always popular Precise Racing Products DIRTcar Late Models had by far the most cars in the pits with the addition of a few crate lates. Many of the local favorite such as Gregg Satterlee, Matt Lux, Jared Miley, Chuck Sarver, John Garvin Jr., Doug Eck, Michael Norris, Mike Pegher Jr., Denton Boyer, Dan Swartzlander, Mike Johnson, Tony Burke, Jim Detman, Billy Stile, Damian Bidwell, Josh Holtgraver, Ryan Montgomery, Nico DeBacco, Colton Flinner, Jayme Beck, Mike Blose, Jared Hawkins, Rick Strickler, Bobby Cossell IV and Joe Martin. There were also a few unmarked cars with unknown drivers. Pegher was behind the wheel of Lynn Geisler’s super late model for the first time!

The Millerstown Pick-A-Part DIRTcar Sportsman about twenty cars in action with Defending Track Champion Joe Kelley, Bob Lipinski, Corey McPherson, Wayne Carbo, Bob Egley, Randy Hanovick, Terry Young, Paul Petrovich, Scott Byers, Brett McDonald, Troy Jeuther, Brian Lockwood, Rob Shook, Jeff Miller, and Paul Schreckengost. As was the case in the Lates, there were also a few unmarked cars with unknown drivers in the Sportsman division.

There are some interesting situations in the Sportsman Stock division heading into 2011. Paul Schreckengost FINALLY sold his #3S after having a “for sale” sign on it the past couple (maybe few) seasons. Jeff Miller bought it and slapped on his familiar #21. In turn, Schrec bought Brew Baker’s old car. Rob Shook is driving a really sharp looking #53 owned by Bill Seitz. Seitz owned the same car last year with Jason Fosnaught piloting #J19 on it. Corey McPherson bought a new engine in the offseason after having issues with his engine throughout 2010. His buddy Brian Lockwood bought Shawn Thorn’s car and will be driving it with the #89L on the doors and roof. Joe Kelley was behind the wheel of a #100 car that he will be driving elsewhere in 2011, while defending his Track Championship in his familiar #66.

The Diehl Auto Group DIRTcar Big Block Modifieds only had three cars in the pits with Brian Swartzlander, Don Brown and Phil Evans taking advantage of valuable practice time. Clayton Kennedy turned some laps with the Big Blocks in his UMP Modified.

Also to be noted was the appearance of several ¾ Mini-Lates, 4-Cylinders, Mod-Lites and Micro Sprints.

Next on tap at “The Action Track” is Opening Night 2011 next Friday, March 25. Keeping with the tradition established by former track Owner/Promoter Don Martin, Opening Night will be run as a non-points race on the final Friday of March. General Admission prices remain unchanged from 2011; Adults $14, Seniors $10, Students (ages 11-17) $7, and as always children under 10 are admitted FREE.

Pits and main gates open at 5:00. Hot laps begin at approximately 7:00, with heat race action following the National Anthem at 7:30 SHARP. Pit prices are $20 for DIRTcar members and $30 for non-members.

Fab Four Racing is scheduled for first four Friday Nights in April with All Star Late Model Series rolling into Sarvertown to close out the month on Friday, April 29. UMP Pro (crate) Late Models and UMP Modifieds will share the card that night. You can see and print the entire 2011 Lernerville schedule on our website www.Lernerville.com.

Opening Night 2011 is this Friday, March 25
Fab Four Racing is back after a long, cold winter
Future Hall of Famers continue to rewrite record books

Sarver, PA (March 22, 2011) The pre-season is over. No more car shows, no more practice, this Friday Night, March 25 it’s straight up time to go Fab Four Racing at Lernerville Speedway! 2011 promises to be another record breaking season as Brian Swartzlander is poised to become the All Time Wins leader in the Diehl Auto Group DIRTcar Modifieds. Ed Lynch Jr. and Joe Kelley will look to add to their All Time Wins leads in the Ti22 Performance DIRTcar Sprints and Millerstown Pic-A-Part Sportsman divisions respectively. Meanwhile, Lynn Geisler looks to add to his lofty career wins total in the Precise Racing Products DIRTcar Late Models.

Brian Swartzlander’s last win on August 20, 2010 tied him with Lernerville Speedway Hall of Famer, the late, great Lou Blaney with 69 wins. Swartzlander’s next win will be his 70th and move him into the All Time Wins lead in the Modifieds, but still well behind Blaney’s overall win total of 118; which includes 49 Sprint Car wins.

Swartzlander’s longtime Rival Kevin Bolland is also in the 50 wins club and is 10th at Lernerville in All Time wins with 51, just four wins behind sprint car great Johnny Beaber. He’s also fifth in the Modified division, 10 wins behind Hall of Famer Blackie Watt.

Lynch and Kelley are already the All Time Wins leaders in their respective divisions. Lynch has 105 Sprint wins plus a Modified win for a total of 106 career feature wins. Kelley has 42 career feature wins, including a remarkable 10 last season!

2011 marks the 30th Anniversary of the Lynn Geisler’s sponsor/relationship with #1 Cochran Automotive; which is nothing short of amazing! Geisler is the active leader in All Time Late Model wins with 108, seven behind Hall of Famer Bob Wearing Sr. Geisler’s last win came on July 3, 2009.

2011 also marks Rod George’s 30th Anniversary of local and regional sprint car racing. George is a three-time Lernerville Speedway Track Champion with 41 career feature wins. Both statistics would be significantly higher had it not been for tours of duty in Central PA and with the All Star Circuit of Champions. George has also won multiple track championships and dozens of wins at Tri-City Speedway and Mercer Raceway Park.

With such a rich history in all four divisions of Fab Four Racing, there is also an impressive surge of youthful exuberance. Danny Holtgraver beat three future Hall of Famers (Lynch, George and Felmlee) to become the youngest Sprint Car Track Champion in the 40+ history of Lernerville Speedway. The Ti22 Sprint division also brags rising and future stars Carl Bowser, Pete Miller III and Brandon Matus.

The Precise Late Models is chalk full of young stars headlined by the likes of Defending Track Champion Dave Hess Jr., Alex Ferree, Jared Miley, Gregg Satterlee, Matt Lux, John Garvin Jr., Michael Norris and Garrett Krummert. FASTRAK star Mike Pegher Jr. is scheduled to compete in the Lynn Geisler’s iconic #1 Cochran Super Late Model at the Action Track this season.

The Diehl Mods features young guns Shawn Fleeger, Steve Feder and the Martin Brothers (Erik & Dustin).

The Millerstown Pic-A-Part Sportsman features a pair of supernovas in A.J. Flick and Corey McPherson, along with a core of still rising stars in Ryan Moyer, Jim Fosnaught and Brett McDonald. McPherson will be joined by his friend Brian Lockwood; whom purchased Shawn Thorn’s car.

Inclement Weather postpones Opening Night 2011
Rescheduled for Friday, April 1 . . . No foolin’!

Sarver, PA (March 24, 2011) A mid-afternoon thunderstorm poured over an inch of rain on the Action Track yesterday, snow is falling on it today and tomorrow’s forecast calls for a high temperature just north of freezing and low temperatures in the 20s by race time. The sum total of Mother Nature’s wrath has forced Lernerville Speedway General Manager Gary Risch Jr. to postpone Opening Night until next week on Friday, April 1.

As scheduled, Budweiser Points will start next Friday Night as Danny Holtgraver in the Ti22 Sprints, Dave Hess Jr. in the Precise Late Models, Kevin Bolland in the Diehl Mods and Joe Kelley in the Pic-A-Part Sportsman start the long and winding road towards defending the 2010 Budweiser Track Championships.

Pits and main gates open at 5:00. Hot laps begin at approximately 7:00, with heat race action following the National Anthem at 7:30 SHARP. Pit prices are $20 for DIRTcar members and $30 for non-members. General Admission prices remain unchanged from 2011; Adults $14, Seniors $10, Students (ages 11-17) $7, and as always children under 10 are admitted FREE.
