Steve Francis gets back in action this weekend at rescheduled Super Bowl of Racing
Steve Francis will head back into action this weekend (March 11-12) with a trip south to Golden Isles Speedway in Brunswick, Ga., for the rescheduled ‘Super Bowl of Racing,’ a two-day show that was postponed by rain last month. After spending the past three weeks hard at work in his Ashland, Ky., shop, Francis will attempt to begin erasing the memories of his frustrating February trip to Florida. He’s turned the page and plans to get back on track with his first competition since Feb. 19. “We’ve been working on some things that will hopefully get us going in the right direction again,” said Francis, who will be behind the wheel of his Valvoline-sponsored Barry Wright cars. “We’re hoping to get down to Brunswick on Thursday to do some testing and then get after it this weekend.” Following the Golden Isles program, Francis, who celebrated his first wedding anniversary with wife Amanda on Feb. 27, will stay busy for the remainder of the month with World of Outlaws Late Model Series racing. His schedule includes a visit to Columbus (Miss.) Speedway on March 18-19 for the $20,000-to-win ‘Cash Cow 100’ and a tripleheader weekend in the Southeast featuring stops at Ocala (Fla.) Speedway on March 25; Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, Ga., on March 26; and Needmore Speedway in Norman Park, Ga., on March 27.
