John Garvin Jr. Highlighted on Dirt Cast, Preparing for 2011Sarver, PA (January 5, 2010) 2010 O’Reilly All Star Late Model Series Rookie of the Year John Garvin Jr. and Copperhead Racing has spent the off-season continuing to learn what it takes to be a traveling Dirt Late Model racer. From building and re-building cars for the new season, searching for sponsors, and attending his first trade show, ‘Copperhead’ has learned a lot in this short off-season.
Another first for Garvin is doing his first interview. John joined Dave Seay at Dirt Cast to talk about his career, his rookie season on the O’Reilly All Star Late Model Series, winning the Rookie of the Year title, what it meant to him, the biggest transition from being a weekly racer to being a regional touring driver, getting help from Boom Briggs, getting his first win in a late model, local racing in Pennsylvania, his plans to go to Florida this year and his plans and expectations for 2011.
‘It was something new for me and I was pretty nervous about,’ Garvin said about his conversation with Dirt Cast. ‘I think it turned out well though. It’s exciting for me to get the exposure that comes along with winning the All Star Rookie of the Year title. It’s been an interesting off-season for us as a team with all the new experiences but all of it is part of doing what we want to do as a race team,’ John continued, It’s a lot of work but it’s nice to be able to get the exposure from guys like Dave Seay and other media outlets.’ John’s interview with Dirt Cast can be found here, or by inserting
