COMP Cams MSRA Double Shot On Tap This Weekend

Beebe, Arkansas (09/14/10) – The COMP Cams MSRA Super Late Model Series will return to action with two big events this weekend as the tour returns to action at USA Speedway (Sterlington, Louisiana) and Riverside International Speedway (West Memphis, Arkansas).

Bill Frye from Greenbrier, Arkansas is the current point’s lead with a 31 point advantage over runner-up, Kyle Beard from Trumann, Arkansas, and a 52 point advantage on third place runner, Jon Mitchell from Texarkana, Texas. The two events this weekend will likely determine, who claims the 2010 COMP Cams MSRA title.

After this weekend’s event, only one event will remain, and that is the 20th Annual Kuntz & Co. Fall Nationals, which was slated to be held at New West Plains Speedway (West Plains, Missouri) last Saturday, but was postponed by Mother Nature to Saturday, October 2nd.

Joining the lead trio in battle this weekend will be tour drivers Jeff Floyd, Joey Mack, Brandon Smith, Jon Kirby, Eddie Provence, Terry Henson, Shane Stephens, Jeff Sloan, and Austin Rettig.

A strong contingent of regional drivers are expected to compete in one or both of the weekend’s events including Billy Moyer Jr., Bub McCool, David Breazeale, Jamie Dacus, Jamie Elam, Billy James, Todd Hall, Mark Stephens and many more.

The weekend opens on Friday, September 17th at USA Speedway in Sterlington, Louisiana with a $2,000 to win/$300 to start, 30 lap event. The tour hosted one event at the ¼ mile oval earlier in 2010 as Bill Frye claimed the win. Also on the card will be B-Modifieds, Limiteds, Cruisers, and the Compact Class. For more information, please visit www.USASpeedwayLLC.com .

On Saturday, September 18th the action shifts to Riverside International Speedway (West Memphis, Arkansas) for the 4th Annual Bartlett Hardwood Floor Service Midsouth Dirt Track Championship. The event will see the COMP Cams MSRA Super Late Models competing topless in the richest one day payout in the history of the COMP Cams MSRA Super Late Model tour. The 40 lap feature will reward the winner with $3,500 and will pay $400 just to start. Jamie Dacus is the defending Champion of the event, and will be on hand to defend his title. Also in action will be the Street Stocks battling in a special for $1,500 to win and $100 to start as well as Open Wheel Modifieds. - The COMP Cams Memphis Street Stock Nationals has taken the place of the Grass Root Nationals. Former Champions include Jeremy Dalton (2007), Terry Grey (2008), and defending Champion, Greg Alexander (2009). A pair of qualifiers for the event were held earlier this year, and Justin Glover and Greg Alexander picked up the wins to guarantee themselves a provisional starting spot in the main event.
