Booper Bare Racing Readies for Busy Holiday Weekend and Month of SeptemberAs the nights start to get shorter and a chill in the air chases the afternoon heat away, it signifies that the 2010 racing season is heading into its final laps. It also means that some very big races are on the horizon and Booper Bare Racing plans on being a major part of those traditional races.
“I really like this time a year” said Booper from his Rockbridge, Virginia race shop. “The weather’s cooler and we are coming up on a lot of races in this area that have been around for a long time. I traditionally do well at some of these upcoming tracks and like the extra distance races. All the races we are going to be attending the rest of this year pay a little better also and that always gets the owner part of me a little more pumped up” said Bare with a laugh. “I appreciate all these sponsors that have come on board for our abbreviated 2010 season. I couldn’t do it without them and I can’t forget about my family and crew. My guys work so hard and our equipment is fresh, now it’s the drivers turn” added the likable veteran.
This coming weekend will see the famous #00 American Racer/FletcherMade/Rocket spend the Holiday weekend in West Virginia. Booper will take part in the inaugural $20,000 to win Black Diamond 125 at Tyler County Speedway on Saturday. The team is taking delivery of a new power plant Friday morning and hope to make it to Tyler County for Friday, but will be there Saturday for sure. A quick drive to West Virginia Motor Speedway Sunday morning will see Booper racing with the Lucas Oil Series in the 41st annual Hillbilly 100. This year’s Hillbilly 100 will reward the winner with a check for $41,000. The rest of September will see the team running with the Lucas Oil Series and at the traditional “King of the Knob” & “Winchester 200” before preparing for the Sunoco Fall Classic at “The Bridge” in early October.
