Dale McDowell Prepares for Portsmouth and WVMS After Landing First Win of 2010(CHICKAMAUGA, GEORGIA) The Clint Bowyer Racing team reached victory lane for the first time in 2010 last Friday night, August 27 at the Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Indiana! Dale McDowell was dominant all evening long, as he set fast time in Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series qualifying, won his heat race, and later led all fifty circuits of the main event. The Chickamauga, Georgia native kept a stellar field behind him in the SPEED Channel taped race and recorded the $10,000 triumph over Brian Birkhofer, Jimmy Owens, Earl Pearson, Jr., and Eric Wells.
Next up for the #17m team was a trip to the Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, Kentucky for another Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series showdown on Saturday evening, August 28. Dale grabbed the fourth and final transfer spot in his heat race and later rolled off fifteenth in the 50-lap 'Bluegrass Classic.' The driver known as the "MacDaddy" was on the move in the $10,000 to win affair, as he blasted past seven competitors en route to a respectable eighth place performance. Dale still finds himself sixth in the latest LOLMDS point standings following the strong weekend. Complete results from Lawrenceburg and Bardstown can be found online at

"We have been close on a couple of different occasions this year, but it feels really good to finally get over the hump and get back into victory lane," exclaimed McDowell recently. "The whole team has been working really hard and I have to give a lot of credit to both Caleb (Baker) and Tommy (Grecco). At Lawrenceburg, our Warrior car was excellent all night and we were able to sweep the night by setting fast time, winning the heat race, and leading all fifty laps of the feature. Then at Bardstown, we just got buried in qualifying, but the car was excellent in the feature and I was able to drive up to eighth. I have to thank everyone involved with Clint Bowyer Racing, but especially Dollar General, Cheerios, General Mills, Bugles, ECR Racing Engines, and Warrior Race Cars!"
The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will take Dale and the #17m team to the states of Ohio and West Virginia over the Labor Day weekend for two huge mega-events. On Friday and Saturday, September 3-4, the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio will play host to the 'Pepsi 75 River Days Rumble,' which boasts a hefty $20,000 top prize. The extended holiday weekend will then conclude on Sunday, September 5 at the West Virginia Motor Speedway in Mineral Wells, West Virginia. A $42,000 winner's check is on the line in the 42nd Annual 'Hillbilly Hundred.' Additional information on these two programs can be located at
