10th Annual York County Nationals Set for SSP on Saturday Night SSP Returns to 6:00 p.m. Start Time
Newberrytown, PA (August 30, 2010) – Racing action returns to the Susquehanna Speedway Park on Saturday Night, September 4, with the 10th Annual York County Nationals featuring the Late Models (32-lap feature), Street Stocks (25-lap feature), Xtreme Stock Cars, Legends Cars and Road Warriors. The $1,000-to-win 32-lap feature will highlight the Late Models. The Street Stock winner will receive $600 for their efforts. The 20-lap Legends Cars feature will be the 3rd Annual Four Diamonds Benefit race with extra lap monies being offered. The Road Warriors will compete in two features (one regularly scheduled and one make-up feature from August 21).
On Saturday night, racing action begins at 6:00 p.m. Pit gates will open at 3:30 p.m. and the grandstand gates will open at 4:00 p.m. Warmups begin at 5:30 p.m. with qualifying races at 6:00 p.m. followed by consolation races and feature events.
General Admission Grandstand ticket prices for Saturday night are Adults (ages 18-59) $14.00; Young Adults (ages 11-17) & Senior Adults (60 & Older) $12.00; Children (10 & under) are free.
Pit pass prices are $25.00 with a reduced price of $20.00 for all pit competitor license holders. The minimum age requirement to purchase a pit pass is 12 years of age with a copy of a birth certificate is required for all ages 12 to 14.
The popular "Repeat Fan Discount" program will continue at SSP in 2010 for the seventh straight season. This is a $2.00 repeat fan discount for each person with a ticket stub from races during the previous week's events completed only. Returning fans are encouraged to write their name, address and phone number on the back of the stub to be entered into special drawings during and at the end of the season for great prizes. The Repeat Fan Discount is not valid for pit pass purchases.
Racing action returns to the SSP Outback Track on Friday night, September 3 featuring quarter midget, kart, lawnmowers and Adult Speedcar racing action. This race is the final points race of the 2010 Summer Shoot-Out Series. Racing begins at 7:30 p.m.
Last weekend, Manchester’s Randy Chrisitne Jr. picked up his second Late Model victory of the season by leading 19 laps of the 20-lap feature at the Susquehanna Speedway Park on Saturday night. Doug Bennett of Chambersburg returned to his winning ways by claiming his fourth Street Stock victory of the year. Spring Grove’s Mike Zeigler Jr. won his third Xtreme Stock race in four events when Jason Failor was disqualified in post-race technical inspection for the fourth time this season. Kurt Welsh led from start to finish in the Classic Car feature event. The 12-lap Mini Van feature was won once again by York Haven’s Daryl Sipe for the seventh time this year.
