Penalties handed down after Volunteer Racing Series event at Lake Cumberland

SOMERSET, KY - The Volunteer Racing Series has handed down the following penalties to the Victor Lee racing team following the event on Saturday Night August 21, 2010 at the Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, KY:

-Victor Lee's Super Late Model team/driver/crew members have been placed on probation for the remainder of the 2010 racing season, and if anymore instances occur, the team will be immediately disqualified from the event and the team will be suspended for one calendar year from Volunteer Racing Series competition as well as a $500 fine before the driver/team may compete in any events after the suspension has been lifted.

'We made this ruling to solidify the fact that the series upholds the rules that state drivers are responsible for their team member(s) and we will not tolerate inappropriate behavior from any team or derogatory remarks towards any official at any time,' stated Series Director and co-founder Chris Tilley.

The series' next event will be on Saturday Night September 4, 2010 at the North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, GA which will pay $3,000 to win.
