Macon Speedway Hosts Race to Benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children Aug. 28Macon Speedway, in Macon, IL has announced a new partnership with the Decatur Shrine Club that will bring what is hoped to be a new “fan favorite” at the track, the “Shrine 50.” The Shriners and Macon Speedway will hold a huge 50-lap feature event for the UMP Late Model division paying $1,500 to the winner, in order to raise money for the benefit of the Shriners Hospitals for Children®.
“We are very excited about the upcoming opportunity to bring great racing to the fans of Macon Speedway and help such a worthy cause,” said track owner Bob Sargent.
The Decatur Shrine Club supports Shriners Hospitals for Children®, an international health care system of 22 hospitals dedicated to improving the lives of children by providing specialty pediatric care, innovative research and outstanding teaching programs. Children up to age 18 with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, and cleft lip and palate are eligible for care at Shriners Hospitals for Children® and receive all services at no financial obligation to families.
The night’s racing card will also feature UMP Modifieds and UMP Street Stocks and Pro and Amateur Hornets to entertain the fans along with many special activities planned.
The Shrine 50 will also be the second to last chance for UMP Late Model drivers to pick up valuable points for the Big Ten Late Model Series.
Don’t miss your chance to help raise money to support the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Fans won’t want to miss any of the action at Macon Speedway with a full summer of hot weekly racing action every Saturday night combined with an exciting mix of special events.
Tickets for adults are still only $10 if purchased in advance from a local Shriner representative or $15 at the gate for adults. Children 12 and under are free.
